Mention Bix in posts and comments

Mention @bix to receive an entertainment reply on the same post or comment. The reply stays with the conversation for people who can access it.

Where to find it: Plus button > Post > @bix; post > Comments > @bix

How to

  1. For a new post, tap +, choose Post and write @bix with an entertainment question.
  2. To ask about an existing conversation, open the post, enter Comments and write the mention in your reply.
  3. If asking about a specific reply, reply to that comment to preserve context.
  4. Review and publish. Bix replies to the post or comment that mentioned it and includes your handle.
  5. Open the thread to read the reply; a mention Ping may help you find it.

Give context without exposing data

  • Ask in the same text as the mention. Writing only @bix does not explain what you want. Include the movie, show or person and the topic.
  • In comments, Bix can receive the original post, the previous comment and related title information. Check this context before requesting a reply.
  • Ask a question of up to 800 characters. A post can accept more text than Bix processes in a mention.
  • To avoid revealing plot details, say which season or episode you reached and ask for no spoilers. This guides the answer, but you should still review it.

What counts as usage

  • Free has a public mention allowance per period. Gold removes that plan limit. Promotions may change access shown in the app.
  • A mention with an eligible image requires Gold. On Free, Bix may send a DM notice instead of analyzing the image.
  • Mentions are processed when you publish. Editing an old text to add @bix is not a new reply request.
  • Gold also has controls against excessive consecutive requests. Immediate replies are not guaranteed.

When Bix does not reply

  • Check that you wrote @bix and published a question rather than only saving a draft.
  • If the question is long, send a shorter version. If several mentions were sent consecutively, wait before trying again.
  • Check the usage card and Bix conversation for a limit or Gold-required notice.
  • If the reply identifies the wrong title, explain the name and year in a new question. If it is abusive, use Report from the reply menu.
