Imports and data that looks incomplete

Check records, dates and Catalog information before comparing totals.

Where to find it: Settings > Data & Privacy > Data importer; Profile > Stats

How to

  1. Import your history using a supported source and wait for the import result.
  2. Check identified titles, ratings and episodes that were used.
  3. Open a few titles in Catalog to compare Watched and progress with the original history.
  4. Reopen Data after synchronization. If something differs, tell support the source and affected titles.

Why two histories may differ

  • A source may contain ratings without episodes, titles without duration or unusable dates. Each part contributes only recognized records.
  • A show rating does not reconstruct watched episodes. Check show tracking if progress is missing.
  • Distinct movies and marked episodes are not rewatch session counts. A history with several sessions of the same title can have different totals.
  • Time, genres and decades also depend on available title information. The activity map depends on usable dates.
  • Synchronization may take some time. Avoid repeating marks or imports just to try increasing a total.

Check an import methodically

  • Start with the importer’s final summary: it reports processed, skipped or unrecognized items. Then compare a few examples in Catalog.
  • Compare matching types: distinct movies with Movies watched, episodes with Episodes watched, scores with Ratings and dates with Activity.
  • A rated show and a show with every episode logged are different histories. A source list also does not equal watched titles.
  • Tops and favorites may need choices in Wall or Catalog. Importing history does not guarantee filling every profile customization.

What to send support for a discrepancy

  • State the source service, import result and one or two example titles with expected dates.
  • State which number or chart differs, with selected year or month. An overall total cannot be directly compared with a filtered month.
  • Avoid posting the entire export in a public channel. If the team needs the file, send it only through the requested support channel.
