Rating count, average and distribution

Ratings shows count, Average score and score distribution. Read them together to understand how often you rate and which scores you usually use.

Illustrative example with fictitious data

In this example, 8 is the most frequent score. Height indicates how many ratings received that score.

Where to find it: Profile > Stats > Statistics > Ratings

How to

  1. Open Profile > Stats > Statistics and scroll to Ratings.
  2. Read Ratings and Average score in the two cards.
  3. Compare the score bar heights. The band number appears at the chart base.
  4. To check or change a score, open the title and its rating in Catalog.

How to read ratings

  • The summary includes movie, show, season and episode ratings. Rating an episode can increase this total without creating a new Flow post.
  • The average combines valid recorded scores. A high average indicates that you tend to give high scores to rated items.
  • Bars group ratings by the nearest whole number. A decimal rating may enter a rounded bar; your recorded score remains decimal.
  • Marking Watched without scoring feeds watched totals but adds no rating.
  • Changing or removing ratings can change the average and bars. Post and rating counts in the profile header may cover different records from this summary.

Interpret your score pattern

  • The count shows considered rating records. Average score summarizes those values. Bars show how many ratings fall in each band.
  • A high score bar shows you use that band often. A similar average may hide different distributions, so read both together.
  • A new score can change the average considerably when there are few ratings. A larger history tends to change more gradually.
  • The distribution describes how you rate recorded titles. It does not establish the correct score for a movie or compare people’s taste quality.

Resolve differences between scores and counts

  • Watched counts may exceed Ratings because Watched does not require a score. Rate the title to add your opinion.
  • A decimal score enters the nearest whole-number bar. Check the saved title score if the chart seems to round it.
  • If the score changed but the average has not, wait and pull the profile to refresh. Check the source rating before sending another.
  • Ranking and social counts may have different scopes. Episode and season ratings enter this summary even when they are not new visible Flow posts.
