How to delete old posts in bulk
Schedule removal of posts older than a chosen period.
Where to find it: Settings > Data & Privacy > Data Management > Delete Old Posts
How to
- Open Delete Old Posts.
- Choose a suggested period or enter a custom number of days.
- Confirm to schedule background processing.
- Follow status: queued, processing, completed, failed or canceled.
- While allowed, use Abort deletion to stop the request.
Rules and what happens next
- The period selects posts older than the chosen number of days, not posts from recent days. Review confirmation wording before starting.
- Processing can continue in the background. Cancelling stops what can still be stopped without automatically recovering posts already deleted.
- Do not treat the tool as a backup or a way to temporarily hide posts. For a reversible profile break, check Pause account.
Common problems
- Still processing: follow Status and avoid duplicate requests.
- Failed or deleted fewer than expected: check the result and review period and included types before retrying. For a specific post, open its menu.
