Report, block or hide content
Reporting submits a violation for review; blocking limits contact with an account; hiding removes a post from your reading. Choose the action that addresses the problem you found.
Where to find it: Post or profile > menu > Report or Block; post > Hide post
How to
- Open the content or profile three-dot menu. For a violation, choose Report.
- Select a reason, add offered context and submit. Opening the form alone does not complete submission.
- To limit contact, choose Block and confirm the account.
- To remove a post from reading, use Hide post where offered. Manage blocked accounts in Settings > Privacy > Blocked Content.
Effects of each choice
- The report form does not reveal your identity to the reported person and does not guarantee immediate removal. Moderation reviews the case under the Terms.
- Blocking limits access and new interactions between accounts under platform controls. It does not automatically erase already received messages or external screenshots.
- Hiding does not delete the author’s content. Muting a DM chat is another action in that chat’s controls; the ordinary post menu should not be treated as offering Mute author.
- Do not repost prohibited content to prove the report. Use its link or identification in support if you cannot reach the control.
If the action does not help
- Check whether you submitted the form, blocked the correct account and received a success notice. Wait for confirmation before retrying.
- If contact continues through another account, report the new case with context. Do not respond by posting the person’s private data.
